Green People were keen to explore developing a seasonal gifting range. The brief was to create a style and theme for this capsule Christmas collection, injecting some trend led design. The packaging brief was to make the range feel luxurious, giftable and premium.

Green People have worked with Kirsteen since late 2018 and we are continually impressed by her unparalleled imagination and creativity. Kirsteen isn’t afraid of pushing the boundaries of design which has helped us create some innovative and unique packaging concepts over the past 18 months.

We began by researching the Christmas beauty gifting market, picking up on trends such as the beauty ‘stocking filler’ and hugely popular advent calendars. We combined this market research with our on-going trend knowledge to create 3 different concepts for the range, which we presented as trend boards – incorporating print, pattern, industry and packaging trends.  

 

The Green People team selected a route which we had called ‘Soulful Retreat’. This design route featured themes of spirituality, rituals and well-being. Using this theme as inspiration we developed an ink effect ombre print for the packaging, which was overlayed with a speckle of bright gold foil. Each gift was given a name which reflected the theme including words such as ‘ritual’ and ‘retreat’. The minimalist design was finished with a small gold foil icon for each gift.
